Transfer from the airport to Madrid

Many students come to live and study in Madrid or other Spanish cities. It is likely that you will need to travel to the center of the city, either to catch another transport that will take you to another city or to get to your accommodation. To do so, you have several options:

Metro: Probably the most direct and budget-friendly way of moving around. In Madrid, metro line 8 takes you directly to the airport, either T4 (the terminal farthest from the center) or one of the other terminals. All of them have a metro stop that will leave you in the center at Nuevos Ministerios, once you get there you can take another metro to get directly to the point where you have to take another transport or where your accommodation is located.

Bus: Another option to get to the center of Madrid, specifically to Atocha, is the bus. The price is 5€ and it passes every 15-20 minutes. An advantage of the bus compared to the metro is that it has a 24-hour service, while the metro closes at 1:30am and opens at 6am. In addition, it will leave you at the Atocha interchange where you can take trains or buses to various Destinations.

Shuttle: Shuttle services are very common in Spain. If you have to get to a certain point, but you don't want to spend a lot of money on a taxi or an Uber, this option is perfect for you. The shuttle will leave you at the address you decide, be it a hotel or a street, and you share the journey with other passengers who will be dropped off at their respective addresses. This way, you save some money and get directly to where you want to go. These services are also available 24 hours a day, and the price ranges between 10€ and 30€.

Taxi, Uber or Cabify: If you have to get to a specific place quickly, the simplest thing is to ask for private transport, either a taxi (there are many at the airport exit) or with the Uber or Cabify apps. You can go comfortably and without any concern wherever you want. The price varies depending on the time and demand, so it is very difficult to estimate the exact price, but it is usually between 20€ and 40€. If you come with someone and share it, it can be very affordable.
